Messi to partner Osimhen as Galatasaray launch loan bid for football legend

Quick Read

According to Fotomac, the Turkish champions are preparing to sign Messi on loan in January 2026. The move would give the Argentina star more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi could be set for a surprising move to Galatasaray in Turkey.

According to Fotomac, the Turkish champions are preparing to sign Messi on loan in January 2026. The move would give the Argentina star more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Messi recently signed a new contract with Inter Miami, which keeps him at the club until 2028, when he will turn 41.

Although this is expected to be the final contract of his career, he may still play in another league before retiring.
For the transfer to happen, Messi, Inter Miami, and Galatasaray must all agree to the terms.

The offer could interest Messi because the MLS will soon go on its post-season break, making a short-term switch possible.

If the move goes through, Messi will join Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who recently scored a hat-trick in the Champions League as Galatasaray defeated Ajax 3–0.
