A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has postponed the Ekiti State governorship primary election earlier scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The postponement was announced in a letter signed by the acting National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
According to the letter sent to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, the election was delayed due to logistics challenges.
The letter read:
“We wish to inform you that the PDP Ekiti State Congress and Governorship Primary slated for November 8, 2025, has been postponed due to logistics issues affecting the process. A new date will be communicated later. Please accept our highest regards.”
