Police in Ogun State have declared a senior officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her teenage daughter, Sewa Lasisi, missing.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the officer and her daughter left their home in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday and have not been seen since.

Oluwamayokun, a Superintendent Route Commander, is a senior operational officer with the FRSC responsible for overseeing several routes and coordinating enforcement operations in the state.

Police said family members and colleagues had been unable to reach the officer or her daughter on their mobile phones.

The report, according to police, was lodged at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on Tuesday, November 5, by an FRSC officer serving in Abeokuta, along with the victims’ family members.

The statement said the mother and daughter left their home at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday, November 2, and have not returned.

“All efforts to reach them on the phone have proved abortive,” the statement added.

The Commissioner of Police, according to Odutola, has ordered a full investigation into the case to uncover the circumstances surrounding their disappearance and ensure their safe return.

The command also appealed to anyone with useful information about their whereabouts to report to the nearest police station, assuring that all information will be treated with strict confidentiality.
