Tennis legend Novak Djokovic has claimed the 101st title of his illustrious career, coming from behind to defeat Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the final of the ATP event in Athens on Saturday.
The 38-year-old Serbian superstar now joins an elite club of players with over 100 career titles, behind only Roger Federer (103) and record-holder Jimmy Connors (109).
Djokovic’s victory also makes him the oldest tournament winner since Australian great Ken Rosewall, who triumphed in Hong Kong at age 43 back in 1977.
It was the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s second title of 2025, following his triumph in Geneva earlier in the year.
Musetti, meanwhile, needed to win the Athens title to clinch the final ticket to next week’s ATP Finals in Turin. His defeat opened the door for Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada to grab the last qualifying spot.
Djokovic had already qualified for Turin but kept fans guessing until midweek before confirming his participation in the season-ending tournament.
At 38 and still defying time, the Serbian maestro once again proved that class and endurance never fade.
