Some voters in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, have complained about being given only ₦1,000 as payment for their votes during the ongoing governorship election.
A woman who spoke to the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) expressed disappointment over the amount, saying it was too small compared to the stress of coming out to vote.
She explained that by 9:00 a.m., no one was present at the Central School, Obosi, where voting was taking place.
Later, an announcement was made asking people to come out and vote, which led many residents to show up.
However, after voting, they were allegedly given ₦1,000 each, which the woman described as “poor consideration.”
She said many voters were unhappy about the amount, especially after spending time and energy to perform their civic duty.
