The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 69.98% of results from the Anambra State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

As of 4:50 pm on Saturday, results from 4,003 out of 5,720 polling units had been uploaded.

The election, conducted across all 21 local government areas of Anambra State, sees incumbent governor Prof. Charles Soludo seeking a second term in office.

He faces a competitive field including candidates from the Labour Party (LP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and other parties.

Anambra State has over 2.8 million registered voters, according to INEC, and the commission has implemented technology-driven measures such as the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and direct polling-unit uploads to IReV to enhance transparency and credibility.

The IReV system, first widely used in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, allows real-time transmission of results from polling units, reducing delays and improving public trust in the electoral process.

Observers and political stakeholders are closely monitoring the uploads as they continue across the state.

The results so far suggest an active engagement across the electorate, with more uploads expected in the coming hours as collation progresses.
