On Peter Obi’s stance, Tanko clarified that the former presidential candidate supports George Moghalu but maintains that the final decision lies with Anambra voters.

The Obidient Movement has accused political actors of turning the Anambra governorship election into a contest of cash rather than credibility.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday, the group’s National Coordinator, Dr Yunusa Tanko, said the election had been heavily monetised, alleging that both candidates and voters were caught up in the practice.

“Our agents across the state report widespread vote buying,” he said. “Poverty has been weaponised, leaving many voters vulnerable to financial inducement.”

Tanko urged stronger penalties for both those offering and accepting money, insisting that elections should reflect the people’s true choice.

He dismissed claims that the Labour Party was also engaged in vote buying, arguing that the party lacked the resources and the inclination to do so.

On Peter Obi’s stance, Tanko clarified that the former presidential candidate supports George Moghalu but maintains that the final decision lies with Anambra voters.
