SuperSport secures global broadcast rights for TotalEnergies AFCON Morocco 2025

CANAL+ Africa has announced that its MultiChoice subsidiary, SuperSport, has secured broadcast rights for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

This makes CANAL+ the first global broadcaster to offer the tournament in French, English, Portuguese, and indigenous African languages.

The 35th edition of Africa’s premier football tournament kicks off in Morocco on 21 December 2025, bringing together the continent’s top teams and players for what promises to be a spectacular celebration of African football.

CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe added: “This is an exciting milestone for African football. When AFCON 2025™ begins, Africans across the continent and diaspora will come together to celebrate the very best of our game.”

Rendani Ramovha, Director of Sport Content for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa at MultiChoice, said: “SuperSport has long been the preferred choice for millions of passionate fans, and this year will be no different. We will launch a dedicated SuperSport AFCON channel, offering live coverage in multiple languages, bringing fans closer to every thrilling moment.”

The tournament will be available on DStv and GOtv, with fans in Nigeria and surrounding regions able to watch in English or Pidgin, and viewers across Africa enjoying coverage in various local languages.

Coverage will feature expert commentary, in-depth analysis, and appearances from African football legends, providing fans with comprehensive insights and entertainment.

Spectators will also witness some of the continent’s biggest stars in action, including Victor Osimhen (Nigeria), Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Sadio Mané (Senegal), Ronwen Williams (South Africa), Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), and Achraf Hakimi (Morocco).

The partnership underscores CANAL+ and MultiChoice’s commitment to bringing African football to a global audience, enhancing the viewing experience, and celebrating the continent’s rich footballing talent.
