Basketmouth blasts Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels over public marriage drama

Comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has joined the growing list of celebrities reacting to the ongoing marital crisis between Senator Ned Nwoko and his Nollywood wife, Regina Daniels.

The ace comedian, in a video shared on social media, expressed disappointment over how couples now turn personal issues into public spectacles, warning that such actions could haunt their children in the future.

“Couples having issues is not a new thing. I once had issues in my marriage, but we didn’t bring it online,” Basketmouth said.

“All these things you people are posting online, people will use them against your kids in the future.”

Basketmouth’s comment comes amid a heated online drama between Nwoko and Regina’s family, following a series of disturbing allegations shared by the senator over the weekend.

In a lengthy statement posted on his verified page, Nwoko accused Regina’s siblings and friends of sabotaging her rehabilitation process and frustrating medical efforts to help her recover from alleged substance use.

According to him, Regina’s brother, Sammy West, and some of her close friends — including Destiny and Sonia Uche Montana — “kept sneaking in drugs” while she was undergoing treatment, despite warnings from doctors.

“These videos show Sammy, Regina’s brother, repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff, especially whenever I was not around,” Nwoko said.

“This is someone I sponsored through his last two years at the University of Ekpoma. I bought his musical instruments, rented and furnished a flat for him in Abuja, and even transferred ₦125 million to their mother, Rita Daniels, in the last two years.”

The Delta North senator also denied sending thugs to assault Regina, insisting the viral video circulating online was filmed “in front of my house” by Regina’s sister and her friend.

Basketmouth, who quietly ended his marriage in 2022, is widely respected for keeping his family life out of public controversy.
