President Bola Tinubu has has recalled how he benefitted from the boldness of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari when he was a judge during the struggle for democracy.
“During our agitation for democracy in the land, when the military was hounding me, I benefited greatly from Dr Sulu-Gambari’s boldness in dispensing justice, for which I remain eternally thankful to him,” Tinubu said while congratulating Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the 30th anniversary of his ascension to the throne on Tuesday.
He noted that the Emir’s career in the judiciary, particularly as Justice of the Court of Appeal, was marked by courage and integrity in dispensing justice without fear or favour.

Tinunu also commended the Emir for his commitment to peace, justice, and development in Ilorin and beyond.
Tinubu commended the Maimartaba Sarkin Ilorin for his exemplary leadership, which he said had engendered peace and stability, paving the way for sustained development in Kwara State.
“Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, is a man of honour and dignity. He served the country diligently before his ascension to the throne, and today he continues to serve as Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano,” the President said.
The President prayed for continued good health and more years of impactful leadership for the Emir.
