Command officers confirmed that the victim, initially feared dead, is now responding positively to treatment.

In a rare display of compassion and decisive leadership, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shola Oladele, Area Commander of the Sango-Ota Police Area Command, has been widely commended for her swift response to a road accident in Ota, Ogun State.

Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred near Onipanu when a pedestrian was struck by a commercial motorcyclist, who reportedly fled the scene.

Oladele, who was on official duty nearby, was immediately informed and promptly mobilized her officers to transport the injured victim to a local hospital.

Upon arrival, delays in treatment reportedly threatened the victim’s life. In a move described by many as “leadership with a human face,” ACP Oladele personally paid for the victim’s prescribed medications, ensuring immediate medical attention.

Residents and civil society advocates hailed her actions as an exemplary model of compassionate policing.

“What ACP Oladele did went beyond her call of duty. It shows that policing can be both firm and humane,” an eyewitness, who preferred to remain anonymous, said.

Command officers confirmed that the victim, initially feared dead, is now responding positively to treatment.

Observers noted that Oladele’s intervention embodies the principles of modern community policing, which emphasizes empathy, prompt action, and accountability in law enforcement.

A senior police official described the gesture as “authority with a heart, representing the true spirit of public service.”
