Police operatives in Delhi have launched a manhunt for Red Ford EcoSport car linked to Monday blast incident while the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed grief and solidarity with government and the people of India.
Local media reported that a massive blast ripped through a Hyundai i20 near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station around 6:50 pm on Monday.
The unfortunate incident led to loss of ten lives and injuries of varying degrees to several others.
The explosion reportedly occurred as the car halted at a red light, and agencies suspect it to be a planned terror attack, invoking the UAPA in the FIR.
Forensic teams are said to have collected 42 exhibits, including car parts and gas cylinder fragments, to determine the nature of explosives used.
The NIA has formally taken over the probe as nationwide alerts remain in force.
Netanyahu posted a message on X addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India, saying “Sara and I, and the people of Israel, send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.
“Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength. India and Israel are ancient civilisations that stand on eternal truths. Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls. The light of our nations will outshine the darkness of our enemies.”
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the blast.
