The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for successfully organizing a transparent and peaceful Anambra State governorship election.

In a statement signed by its National President, Kabiru Yusuf, the group said the election showed Nigeria’s progress toward fair and credible elections.

According to the AYCF, the poll was peaceful, well-planned, and marked by better logistics, improved technology, and greater voter confidence under the new INEC leadership.

“The Anambra election is proof that Nigerians are beginning to trust the voting process again,” the group stated. “Under Professor Amupitan, people can now believe their votes truly count.”

The Forum commended INEC for innovations such as timely delivery of election materials, effective use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), and quick electronic transmission of results. These, it said, marked a clear improvement from past elections.

AYCF urged INEC to maintain its good performance and use the Anambra experience as a model for future elections across the country.

The group also congratulated the people of Anambra for their peaceful participation, describing them as patriotic citizens who have renewed faith in Nigeria’s democracy.

Observers nationwide have also praised the election for its transparency, organization, and effective use of technology, describing it as a milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
