Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Friday unveiled the newly renovated Executive Council Chambers at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, describing the upgrade as part of his administration’s long-term urban renewal and infrastructure regeneration agenda.
Abiodun made the announcement in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that the previous chambers had deteriorated beyond acceptable standards.
He said the decision to remodel, rather than construct an entirely new structure, was based on prudence and the need to demonstrate responsible governance.
“The former structure had fallen into embarrassing decay, and we deliberately chose to remodel rather than build a new Governor’s Office to demonstrate seriousness and create a modern, functional space,” the governor wrote.
According to him, the redesigned chambers now feature state-of-the-art technology, improved lighting, digital systems, and upgraded executive seating aimed at enhancing the efficiency of government operations.
The governor noted that the project forms part of a broader statewide regeneration effort, which includes the facelift of the Ibara GRA and other key urban areas under the administration’s ISEYA development pillars.
“This project is part of our broader regeneration and Urban Renewal Programme. It aligns with our ISEYA pillars, through which we continue to deliver improvements in infrastructure, security, health, education, and housing,” he added.
Abiodun also acknowledged the contributions of members of the State Executive Council and paid tribute to former Governor Olusegun Osoba, who officially commissioned the remodeled chambers.
He commended Osoba’s endorsement of ongoing transformation projects, including the remodeling of the MKO Abiola Stadium and the Cultural Centre, saying such encouragement strengthens his administration’s commitment to building a modern and progressive Ogun State.
“We remain focused on creating an enabling environment that inspires investor confidence and supports long-term economic growth. With every regeneration project we complete, we move closer to building the Ogun State our people deserve — structured, progressive, and prepared for the future,” Abiodun stated.
