Interswitch Group has reinforced its long-standing support for Nigeria’s digital finance ecosystem as it returns as Gold Sponsor of the 2025 Annual Conference of the Committee of e-Business Industry Heads (CeBIH).
The two-day conference, scheduled for December 2–3 at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, will focus on the theme: “Reimagining Financial Inclusion Through Cultural Shifts in Consumer Credit.”
The event is expected to serve as a major forum for rethinking Nigeria’s consumer credit culture and developing new pathways to financial access for underserved populations.
The gathering will bring together regulators, senior banking executives, innovators, fintech leaders and economic policymakers to interrogate how evolving attitudes toward credit, combined with advances in data and technology, can unlock lending opportunities for millions of Nigerians still excluded from formal financial systems.
Verve, a subsidiary of Interswitch, will headline a key panel session on Day 1 titled “Alternative Credit Scoring for the Underserved.”
The discussion will explore weaknesses in traditional credit-scoring frameworks and highlight emerging models that rely on alternative data sources, offering new hope to consumers and micro-enterprises with little or no credit history.
Mitchell Elegbe, Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch Group, said the company’s renewed partnership with CeBIH reflects its commitment to shaping an inclusive digital-finance future.
“At Interswitch, we understand that true inclusion goes beyond digital connectivity—it requires developing credit systems that mirror the realities of everyday Nigerians,” he said.
“With technology and data intelligence, we can redesign lending frameworks to empower individuals and businesses historically left out of the financial ecosystem.”
CeBIH, established to drive collaboration and thought leadership in Nigeria’s digital financial services space, continues to be instrumental in influencing national payments and e-business strategies. This year’s theme underscores the need for culturally relevant and responsible credit systems as a foundation for inclusive economic growth.
Interswitch’s continued sponsorship of the annual conference reaffirms its strategic focus on financial empowerment, innovation, and building a resilient digital economy across Nigeria and Africa.
