Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF), Wahid Enitan Oshodi, on his re-election as the Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

The governor’s message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile. Sanwo-Olu described Oshodi’s victory as a strong validation of his outstanding leadership qualities and impressive performance during his first term.

Oshodi secured another term as ITTF Executive Vice President during the continuation of the federation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was held online on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Governor Sanwo-Olu said Oshodi’s re-election reflects the confidence and trust placed in him by global stakeholders, noting that the Lagos-born sports administrator has excelled both as ATTF President and in his previous capacities at state, national, continental, and international levels.

“On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Lagos State, I rejoice with a worthy citizen of our dear State, Wahid Enitan Oshodi, on his re-election as the Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation,” the governor said.

He added that Oshodi’s emergence among the top seven candidates—drawn from the United States, China, Turkey, Australia, Ecuador, Romania, and Jordan—is a proud moment for Lagos, Nigeria, and the African continent.

“His re-election is well-deserved,” Sanwo-Olu said. “Oshodi has distinguished himself in all the positions he has held and has contributed immensely to the development of sports, especially table tennis, for many years.”

The governor expressed confidence that Oshodi will use his renewed mandate to further advance the growth of table tennis in Nigeria and Africa, raising the sport to compete more strongly on the global stage.

“We are proud of him,” he said. “We believe his influence at continental and international levels will continue to lift the fortunes of table tennis and inspire the next generation of African talent.”
