Farmers in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun state have applauded Governor Ademola Adeleke for his visible efforts in improving infrastructure and creating an enabling environment for businesses, even as they called on the government to provide more support for agriculture.

Mr. Bamidele, a dedicated cocoa and cassava farmer in the area, said the government’s assistance would greatly improve farming efficiency.

“I have cocoa and cassava plantations, and I would really love it if the government could provide tractors to help us with farm work,” he said.

“We also need access to agricultural chemicals like insecticides to control pests and ensure healthy crop yields.”

Joining in the commendation, another resident and traditional ruler, HRM Oba Samson Adeniyi Aderibigbe, the Oyebo of Oyetoro in Ibokun, highlighted the positive impact of Governor Adeleke’s administration on the community.

“The governor is doing really well. He has constructed roads that have opened up our towns, and he has provided an enabling environment for businesses to grow and thrive,” the monarch said.

Both residents, who live in Ibokun under Obokun Local Government, emphasized the importance of continued government support for farmers, noting that adequate tools, modern equipment, and access to farm inputs could significantly boost agricultural productivity and contribute to the economic well-being of local communities.

Their comments come as many farmers across the state continue to face challenges such as outdated farming methods, limited mechanization, and pest infestations, which affect crop yield and profitability.

Stakeholders say addressing these issues could further strengthen Osun State’s agriculture sector and support the governor’s broader vision for economic growth.
