Popular comedian and content creator, Cute Abiola, has urged the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government to take concrete steps to address the alarming insecurity in the state.

His reaction follows Tuesday’s attack on a Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, where suspected bandits stormed the premises, leaving worshippers terrified.

Cute Abiola, in a post shared on his X handle on Wednesday, said Nigerians are tired of empty government assurances and press statements that do not translate into tangible security improvements.

He described a viral video from the attack—showing an elderly woman running desperately for safety—as a painful symbol of how unsafe the country has become.

He wrote:
“What happened in Kwara State is heartbreaking. Seeing that elderly woman running for her life inside a church—a place where she should feel safe—yet she’s struggling to escape death. That clip alone says everything about how unsafe we have become as a nation.
To the Federal Government of Nigeria and Kwara State Government: Please, we don’t want another press statement. Don’t tell us you are ‘on top of the situation.’ Don’t release promises that die after one week. We need action. We need results. We need protection.”

Similarly, award-winning DJ and music producer DJ Neptune also condemned the attack, lamenting the deteriorating security situation across the country.

According to him, nowhere in Nigeria feels safe anymore, despite the government’s earlier promises to end insurgency and violent crimes.

On X, DJ Neptune wrote:
“Nowhere seems to be safe anymore, and this should never be the case! This government promised to end insurgency. To the right authorities, please fulfil your promises and wipe out these devilish creatures causing our land so much pain.”
