Mohbad: Yomi Fabiyi reveals key suspects

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred fresh controversy after claiming he is in possession of a video allegedly revealing what happened to late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Fabiyi made the claim in a video posted on social media, where he also appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to personally step into the lingering case.

According to the actor, the footage was sent to him as part of what he describes as an extortion attempt, suggesting some individuals want to use the video to intimidate him.

Fabiyi revealed that he had already written a formal letter to President Tinubu in May 2025, insisting in that letter that Mohbad was “murdered.”

He further alleged that Mohbad’s case file was reviewed by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, stating that key suspects were identified during the investigation.

However, he claims there is now a plot to bury the case.

“Now they want to cover it up,” Fabiyi said.

“They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests. This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you.”
