United Nigeria Airlines has reacted to the public apologies issued by online personalities, Martins Otse (VeryDarkMan) and Freedom Atsepoyi (Mr Jollof), following their altercation during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at the Asaba International Airport.

The airline, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, said it had taken note of their assurances to avoid any conduct capable of jeopardising aviation safety on future flights.

“United Nigeria Airlines acknowledges and accepts the public apologies issued by VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof following the onboard altercation that occurred during the boarding of Flight UN0523 from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on 17 November 2025,” the statement read.

The airline added that both individuals had publicly committed, via their social media pages, to refrain from behaviour that disrupts order, safety or decorum onboard aircraft.

It expressed confidence that their undertakings would be honoured “in the interest of maintaining a safe, respectful, and orderly travel environment for all passengers.”

United Nigeria Airlines also praised the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Airport Security (AVSEC), other aviation agencies, the Asaba Airport Authority, and its own crew for their swift and professional handling of the situation in line with safety protocols.

The statement further noted the airline’s alignment with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and aviation regulators in the ongoing effort to curb unruly behaviour among air travellers. It urged passengers to cooperate fully with airline staff and security officials to safeguard the safety and integrity of air travel.
