Emeka Rollas, Regina Daniels clash over actress’ alleged substance abuse

The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has found himself in a war of words with actress Regina Daniels and her mother, Rita Daniels, over controversies surrounding Daniels’ marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.

Rollas, in a statement on his Instagram page, called out several Nollywood actors, including Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, and Chinyere Wilfred, for allegedly witnessing Daniels abuse substances on movie sets. He said he felt compelled to address the issue to the public, the Guild, and himself, insisting that his concern was for Daniels’ wellbeing, not to shame her.

“My concern here is not to shame you. My concern is that you need help. Many of our members have received help before you, and the Guild was instrumental in that. It is not a crime to seek support,” Rollas said.

He also criticized Rita Daniels, saying: “If your daughter’s home and health are in distress, AGN elections should not be your priority. Our Guild must be a safe place, and when leaders justify harmful habits as a ‘celebrity lifestyle,’ it puts younger members at risk.”

Reacting swiftly, Regina Daniels slammed Rollas for speaking against her and her mother. In a Facebook post, she accused him of spreading falsehoods and criticized his leadership of the Guild. Daniels claimed Rollas had been rewarded by her family and accused him of seeking personal gain while failing to enforce protections for actors over his eight-year tenure.

“I’m not shocked because that’s how you get paid… Actually, that’s what you’ve always done to high-profile men you visit to lure them with women, so your pocket can get bigger,” she wrote. “You should be thankful to my mother for introducing you to my ex-husband. I’m still in awe that you would try to discredit my mother’s efforts.”
