United States President Donald Trump has expressed deep anger and concern over the reported killings of Christians in Nigeria, calling the situation a “disgrace” and hinting at potential actions the U.S. might take.

Speaking on a conservative radio program on Friday, Trump said that thousands of Christians in Nigeria are being killed by Islamist extremist groups. He accused the Nigerian government of failing to protect its citizens and called for stronger action to stop the violence.

Earlier this year, Trump designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” due to the alleged Christian genocide. During the radio interview, he warned that the United States could take military action if Nigeria does not do more to protect Christian communities from attacks.

Trump also suggested that the U.S. might stop providing aid and subsidies to Nigeria, saying:

“Nigeria is a disgrace. They’re killing people by the thousands. It’s a genocide, and I’m really angry about it. We give a lot of subsidies to Nigeria, and we may end up stopping.”

The U.S. President emphasized that the violence against Christians must be addressed immediately. He repeated his warning that military action could be taken against Islamist militants if the Nigerian government fails to act effectively to stop the killings.

Trump’s comments have added to ongoing discussions about insecurity in Nigeria, particularly attacks targeting Christian communities in different parts of the country.

Observers say the remarks highlight growing international attention on Nigeria’s security challenges and the need for urgent government intervention.
