President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to tackling insecurity across the country, declaring that his administration “will not relent” in the effort to secure every Nigerian.

His assurance comes after the rescue of 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, and the recovery of 51 missing students of a Catholic school in Niger State.

In a message to Nigerians on Saturday, the President recalled that he cancelled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa in order to personally coordinate security operations at home.

He said the decision reflected the urgency of the situation and the importance his administration places on protecting citizens.

“Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued,” Tinubu said.

He added that he was also encouraged by the recovery of 51 out of the missing students in Niger State.

The President noted that he is “closely monitoring the security situation nationwide” and receiving constant updates from security commanders on the frontlines.

In a firm declaration of intent, Tinubu said: “Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety, and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”

The rescue operations mark a significant breakthrough in a week that witnessed multiple attacks on vulnerable communities and educational institutions.
