Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, David Oyedepo, has recalled how he narrowly escaped being framed after a parcel of marijuana was found hidden in his vehicle many years ago.
According to him, the substance was discovered by his driver, who had arrived from Katsina and offered to wash the car that morning. “Someone once planted Marijuana in my car, I’ve never seen it in my life so I wouldn’t know, my driver then who was a pastor came in from Katsina and told me he wanted to wash my car that morning, mysteriously he was removing the seats and he found a freshly wrapped weed under the seat,” Oyedepo said.
He added that later that night, while returning from the office, some policemen who used to salute him stopped his vehicle and went straight to search the exact spot where the drug was kept. Oyedepo said he confronted them immediately. “I told them shame on you! and they said sorry sir. There are many people who are in prison today without doing anything.”
The cleric urged young people to seek God early, saying it prevented him from ending up a victim of false accusations. “It is good to find Jesus early, no aspect of my life has been wasted,” he added.
