Why Davido’s daughter Imade was missing at Adeleke wedding – Sophia

Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s first daughter, Imade, has finally reacted after coming under heavy criticism on social media following the Adelekes’ family wedding in the United States.

Imade was noticeably absent at the event, while Davido’s second daughter, Hailey, was in attendance, a development that triggered harsh accusations from netizens who stormed Sophia’s Instagram page, claiming she deliberately prevented the 9-year-old from celebrating with her father’s family.

Responding in a lengthy Instagram statement on Wednesday, Sophia said she woke up to “attacks” directed at her and her daughter, despite maintaining silence in recent months.

According to her, Imade is a “healthy and happy child,” and anyone who has seen her recently can confirm it. Sophia revealed that she has been Imade’s primary caregiver for the last five years, covering all her expenses except school fees, which Davido’s parents, the Adeleke grandparents, have been paying for the past three years.

However, she reiterated that Davido himself has “not paid any child support,” yet their daughter lacks nothing because she has ensured her wellbeing is prioritized.

Sophia further dismissed claims that she has ever denied Davido access to his daughter, stating that she has consistently facilitated a cordial relationship between them — provided meetings are structured and safe for the child.
