Police arrest kidnapper, two teenage girls with gun in Edo

Operatives of Uromi Division of Edo State Police Command have arrested two teenage girls, Believe Ehinor (18) and Ofoma Sofia (19), for being in possession of an automatic pump-action shotgun, with Breach No. 0230.
The female suspects were intercepted and arrested at about 11.30 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Five live cartridges concealed in a sack bag were recovered from them.
A statement by the State Police Command Spokesman, CSP Moses Yamu, disclosed that the suspects confessed that the weapon belongs to one Peace Ehinor, who escaped during an earlier raid.
In another development, a suspect kidnapper, identified as Usman Shagari has also been arrested by Edo Police operatives following credible intelligence and technical surveillance.
The suspect was arrested at Elushi area of Ubiaja, Edo Central, following credible intelligence and technical surveillance.
He is believed to be among the gang that kidnapped one Daniel Okoekhian and his wife on November 22, 2025.
“All suspects have been charged to court for prosecution, while efforts to apprehend fleeing gang members continue,” Yamu said.
