Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has opened up about a recent dating experience with a UK-based man, revealing that his lack of effort made her rethink his intentions.

In a video posted to her Instagram page, the actress explained that she suddenly stopped chatting with the man after she was involved in a minor car accident that damaged two of her tyres. According to her, he later reached out to ask why she had gone silent, unaware of the incident.

Nkechi said that when she told him about the accident, his response was limited to asking if she was fine before abruptly ending the conversation. She said the reply made her feel he had no genuine interest in her well-being.

According to her, a man who is serious about building a relationship should not ignore moments when he can show care. She stressed that she wasn’t asking for financial help but expected him to show concern or offer support.

Hours later, she said he sent another message asking if she had “sorted it out,” to which she replied that she had already purchased two new tyres herself.

The actress then compared this experience with the treatment she received from a male friend in Abuja. She explained that when she mentioned she had work in the capital, the friend immediately offered to cover her hotel costs. Even when she declined and said she could handle it herself, he insisted on taking care of the arrangements. Nkechi described this as an example of how a man who truly cares behaves.

Nkechi emphasised that although she values her independence, she also believes that a man should show effort and be willing to step in when necessary.

She added that she has no desire to date a man who cannot demonstrate that he is capable of looking after her when the situation calls for it.

The actress concluded by saying she is currently single and talking to more than one person, implying that she is keeping her options open.
