Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the jailed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the Sokoto Correctional Centre on Sunday.

Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and his brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, announced the visit on Facebook.

Ejimakor thanked the governor for keeping his promise to visit Kanu. He wrote that Otti is “a man of his word,” and prayed that the visit would help bring an end to Kanu’s “undeserved suffering.”

Emmanuel Kanu also praised the visit, saying that the governor and the people of Sokoto had “made a unified statement” by showing support for Nnamdi Kanu.
