NELFUND disburses N140 billion to 788,000 students across Nigeria

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) says that 788,947 students have benefited from its loan scheme out of 1,193,228 applications received since the portal opened.

Data shared by NELFund on its social media accounts shows that 3,367 new applications were submitted the day before. So far, 262 tertiary institutions have received a total of N82.34 billion for students’ tuition fees as of November 12, 2025.

The fund has also given N58.53 billion directly to students as upkeep allowances, bringing the total loans disbursed to N140.88 billion.

In a weekly report covering November 24 to 30, NELFund said 35,773 applications were successfully processed during that period.

The update confirmed that 262 institutions and 788,947 students have benefited from the tuition and upkeep disbursements since the program started.
