The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Edo State Chapter, Hon. Kennedy Odion extended an impassioned goodwill message during the official unveiling of the Edo State Coalition. He characterised the event as a pivotal juncture in the state’s journey toward democratic maturation and collective progress.

Addressing a diverse audience comprising political stakeholders, civic groups, and community leaders, Hon. Odion articulated a profound sense of responsibility and honour in participating in what he described as “a bold step toward unity, inclusiveness, and purposeful leadership.” He underscored the coalition as a manifestation of a shared commitment to fortifying Edo State’s democratic framework while fostering socio-economic advancement through strategic collaboration and visionary governance.

“In coming together,” he remarked, “we illustrate that prioritising the interests of the people paves the way for meaningful collaboration that can transform our communities and lives for the better.” His words resonated strongly as he advocated for collective action aimed at addressing pressing challenges facing the state.

Hon. Odion also commended the tireless dedication of all parties instrumental in realising this coalition. He extended special recognition to prominent national figures and respected elders who played critical roles in guiding the coalition’s formation. Notable among them were H.E. John Odigie Oyegun, the National Legal Advisor; Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, Chairman of the Planning Committee; Hon. Dr M. Nosa-Ehima, JP, the Committee Secretary, Jafaru Sumaina, alongside various committee members and the ADC State Executive team.

He acknowledged the unwavering support from ADC’s national leadership, including party founder and former national chairman Ralphs Okey Nwosu; National Chairman David Mark; National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola; National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi; and National Youth Leader (Female) Caro Uholo Abaro, whose representatives attended the event and lent their endorsement to this united front.

A key highlight of the celebration was the appearance of the ADC National Chief Whip, Festus Igbinoba, who represented the National Chairman during the official unveiling, symbolising the party’s unity and resolve.

The event drew a significant turnout from leaders across the South-South Zone, whose attendance underscored regional solidarity. Hon. Odion expressed gratitude for their support, particularly emphasising the goodwill message from the Vice National Chairman (South-South), Usani Uguru Usani, which he found especially motivating Among the prominent attendees were former Edo governorship candidate and Assistant Publicity Secretary (South-South), Mabel Oboh; Zonal Youth Leader, Bright Honda; and numerous regional party leaders who contributed to the momentum of the coalition.

Hon. Odion underscored that the coalition’s effectiveness hinges on unity, discipline, and a consistent commitment to Edo State’s advancement. He reaffirmed the ADC’s dedication to promoting credible leadership, good governance, and policies that prioritise the welfare of the populace. “Our strength resides in our capacity to collaborate effectively,” he stated emphatically. “This coalition must remain focused and resolute in its mission to create a brighter and more prosperous future for our beloved state.”

As he concluded his message, he invoked blessings for wisdom and strength for the coalition as it embarks on this vital journey. He expressed unwavering confidence that this partnership would resonate with and fulfil the collective aspirations of the people of Edo.
