President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered deployment of Special Security Team to combat the activities of bandits and other criminal elements in some parts of Kano communities.

However, Kano state Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged all security agencies to intensify joint operations across troubled communities in Tsanyawa and Shanono Local Government Areas where bandits are infiltrating from their locations in Katsina state.

The Governor visited the two Local Government Areas on Tuesday where he commiserated with the victims of bandit attacks and assured that the nefarious activities of the enemies of the state shall soon be nipped in the bud.

our Correspondent reports that coordinated security operations have been intensified across vulnerable communities in Kano state, as part of ongoing efforts to combat bandit activities and restore lasting peace.

Governor Yusuf disclosed that he had visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to brief him on the escalating security situation affecting parts of Kano State.

According to him, President Tinubu fully understood the gravity of the threat and immediately ordered the deployment of a specialized security team to Kano to reinforce ongoing operations.

Governor Yusuf further explained that arrangements are already underway to enhance mobility, strengthen logistics, and provide additional operational support required by security agencies to effectively confront banditry.

He reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that every community in the state enjoys full government protection.

Governor Yusuf also directed security operatives to remain focused, maintain vigilance, and intensify intelligence gathering in close collaboration with local communities.

He emphasized that community-based intelligence remains one of the most reliable tools for identifying threats and preventing attacks.

Governor Yusuf reassured residents that the combined security measures, including additional deployments, improved inter-agency coordination, and enhanced mobility, will continue until peace is fully restored across all affected areas.

Moreso, Governor Yusuf has disclosed the government’s plan to secure drones and other logistics for surveillance and rapid response in order to protect inhabitants of the border areas between Kano and Katsina States.

Governor Yusuf made the disclosure while assessing the preparedness of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in addressing the recent bandits’ attacks at their three bases in Tsanyawa and Shanono Local Government Areas.

He appealed to the people residing in the affected areas to assist the JTF with useful information about the bandits’ movements.

Governor Yusuf revealed that when he visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the matter, the President quickly responded positively to the request presented to him.

He tasked the JTF to put in their best effort to secure the release of the innocent kidnapped residents of Tsanyawa and Shanono Local Government Areas from the hands of the bandits.

“We are aware that they have been attacking innocent communities, especially here in Tsanyawa and Shanono Local Government Areas. Many innocent lives were taken away, and many innocent people were also sent to the bush.

“I assured you that by God’s Grace, those that were kidnapped will be brought back to their families,” he stated.

Governor Yusuf told the troops that, “we are here to assess the situation as far as this insecurity is concerned and to rub minds with you as well as to motivate you to put in your best.

“This type of insecurity in Kano State is something new; it is something alien that has just been observed in the state, and the government is doing its best to address the situation with the cooperation of security agencies.”

Governor Yusuf assured them that the present administration would do the necessary for their welfare.

During the assessment tour, Governor Yusuf commiserated with families whose relatives were kidnapped and assured them of the victims’ freedom very soon.

Our Correspondent reports that five and ten persons were abducted in Tsanyawa and Shanono communities, respectively, including one woman who lost her life.
