Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has repeatedly insisted that a DNA test must be conducted to confirm whether Liam is truly the biological child of the late artiste.

The widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has issued a new statement regarding the ongoing legal dispute over the paternity of her son, Liam.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has repeatedly insisted that a DNA test must be conducted to confirm whether Liam is truly the biological child of the late artiste.

He recently approached the court seeking an order to compel Wunmi to present the child for the test.

For months, speculation and public pressure have trailed the matter, with many Nigerians accusing Wunmi of avoiding the paternity verification process.

However, in a statement released on her Instagram page and signed by her legal team, Wunmi countered the allegations, stating that it is her father-in-law who has been “shifting the goalpost” and causing delays.

She revealed that during the court session held on Wednesday, her father-in-law filed an application requesting that the DNA test be conducted in two hospitals of his personal choice.

According to her, the judge struck out the application, ruling that the DNA test must be conducted in neutral medical facilities where neither party has vested interest.

The statement emphasizes Wunmi’s willingness to comply with the court’s directive, provided the process follows due legal procedure and ensures fairness.

Mohbad’s death in September 2023 continues to spark controversies, with the DNA issue becoming one of the most contentious topics among the public and within the late singer’s family.
