Police speak on kidnapping of Ibadan APC chieftain

The Police said they have commenced investigations into the kidnapping of Mr Wale Oriade, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Oriade was allegedly kidnapped by gunmen on Wednesday at about 7.00 p.m. around Akala Expressway, Ibadan.
Oriade was allegedly abducted by while leaving his office, located around the Akala Expressway area of Ibadan, by three gunmen.
The reportedly forced him into a blue Micra vehicle.
The kidnappers were said to have driven off to an unknown destination.

The former Senator expressed shock and called for “decisive action” by security agencies to rescue Oriade
“Oyo State must not be surrendered to criminals,” he said while urging the public to stay calm while authorities intensify efforts to rescue Oriade.
Oyo Police Command’s spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso confirmED the incident in Ibadan on Thursday.
Osifeso confirmed that reports indicated that Oriade, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Wednesday at about 7.00 p.m. around Akala Expressway, Ibadan.
“Investigations are ongoing, and updates will be provided later,” he said.
