The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Amaewhule moved to the APC on Friday along with 15 other members of the Assembly.

He said they decided to leave because of what he described as a clear division in the PDP.

It will be recalled that earlier in March, President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State. He also suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and some lawmakers during the political crisis in the state.
