VeryDarkMan also criticised Gwamnishu’s own response video, accusing him of gaslighting the public and manipulating emotions despite being aware of the true details.
Social media critic and outspoken commentator, VeryDarkMan, has openly admitted that he initiated the call that led to the arrest of activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who is currently being detained by the police in Benin, Edo State.
Speaking in a Facebook video on Friday, he revealed that Gwamnishu was picked up on Thursday night after he personally contacted the police regarding an alleged incident involving the activist in Auchi.
According to VeryDarkMan, he received troubling reports about the situation and made further inquiries before alerting law enforcement. He said he initially advised those involved not to post anything online, but a video later surfaced, prompting him to speak out.
He expressed disappointment, saying one of the individuals involved claimed he released the video only to clear his name after being accused of complicity.
VeryDarkMan also criticised Gwamnishu’s own response video, accusing him of gaslighting the public and manipulating emotions despite being aware of the true details.
He added that although the police instructed those present not to record, someone still managed to capture a clip showing Gwamnishu returning money related to the case. He confirmed that Gwamnishu’s truck is currently at a police station in Edo State.
Dismissing claims that he acted out of jealousy, the critic said he simply wanted the truth to be upheld.
He warned that if Gwamnishu refuses to publicly state what truly happened, he may be forced to reveal more details himself.
VeryDarkMan said:
“In all honesty, I initiated the call that led to his arrest. I did. I’m really disappointed in everything, but I would wait for him to come out and this time, I want him to say the truth about what happened in Auchi.”
He further described Gwamnishu’s video explanation as “gaslighting”, accusing him of emotional manipulation.
