PDP BoT declares full support for Wike-backed NWC

A faction of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pledged its loyalty to the its National Working Committee (NWC), affirming that it remains committed to strengthening internal unity and stability within the opposition party.

The group made the declaration at a meeting held on Sunday, where members reiterated their confidence in the leadership of the NWC and called for renewed cooperation among all organs of the party. The faction emphasised that only a cohesive structure can effectively position the PDP ahead of future political engagements.

Speaking after the meeting, leaders of the faction said their decision was aimed at reinforcing party discipline and supporting ongoing efforts to resolve internal disagreements. They urged stakeholders to prioritise dialogue over confrontation, noting that the party’s national leadership requires full backing to navigate current political challenges.

The faction also encouraged members across the country to remain steadfast and avoid actions capable of deepening divisions, stressing that unity was essential for rebuilding public trust and strengthening the PDP’s national influence.
