Adamawa gov Fintiri imposes 24-hour curfew

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area after a fresh communal clash broke out on Sunday evening.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hussaini Hammangabdo.

Fintiri ordered security agencies to move into the affected communities immediately to restore peace and prevent further violence.

The statement said, “The Adamawa State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area with immediate effect following a renewed communal clash. Security agencies have been directed to move into the area and restore peace and order without delay.”

Residents were urged to stay calm and cooperate with security personnel as the government works to bring the situation under control.
