Governor Nwifuru’s earlier discussion was also private, but it is believed to have focused on issues like development and security concerns affecting his region.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday met with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, also held a separate meeting earlier at the same venue.

The discussions were held privately, and no official statement was released about what was discussed or decided.

The meeting happened at a time when political issues in Rivers State are getting more serious. Recently, 17 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who support Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). This move reduced the number of PDP lawmakers that support Governor Fubara to just three.

Governor Fubara arrived at the State House at about 5:01 pm and was received by officials. The meeting lasted for around 45 minutes and ended without reporters being told the details.

Governor Nwifuru’s earlier discussion was also private, but it is believed to have focused on issues like development and security concerns affecting his region.
