He wants to help the team, and that is good. But blaming others and calling them scapegoats is wrong. He needs to sit down with the manager and have an honest conversation,” Gerrard said.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has reacted to Mohamed Salah’s recent interview where the winger criticized manager Arne Slot and the club.

Salah had earlier said Liverpool tried to throw him “under the bus.” After those comments, Slot decided to leave him out of the squad that beat Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Speaking about the situation, Gerrard said Liverpool and Salah must settle their differences quickly.

“Liverpool needs Salah to regain his form and start scoring again. He is the best player and top scorer. He can help the team get back on track,” Gerrard told TNT Sports.

Gerrard added that Salah is clearly unhappy because he has not been playing, and that his feelings are understandable. However, he stressed that some of Salah’s remarks were not right.

“He wants to help the team, and that is good. But blaming others and calling them scapegoats is wrong. He needs to sit down with the manager and have an honest conversation,” Gerrard said.
