CKay makes history with 2021 hit song ‘Love Nwantiti’

Nigerian singer, song-writer and record producer Chukwuka Chukwuma Ekweani, popularly known as CKay, has hit a major milestone with his hit song from 2021.

The jam, ‘love Nwantiti’, recently hit over a billion streams, becoming the second Nigerian song to have a billion streams on Spotify.

”A global heartbeat: @ckay_yo officially joins the Spotify #BillionsClub with “love nwantiti (ah ah ah)” as the first solo Nigerian artist,” Spotify announced via their X handle.

The track was released by CKay in 2021, and it shortly became a hit on TikTok. It comes second only to Rema’s ‘ calm down’ with Selena Gomez. The track which was released in 2023 is the first African song to attain this milestone.
