Wizkid publicly begs Asake to perform at his wedding

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants Afrobeats sensation Asake to perform at his wedding.

Wizkid made the disclosure during a recent appearance on Apple Music Radio, where he sat alongside Asake and DJ Tunez.

According to the Starboy boss, Asake’s breakout hit ‘Omo Ope’ instantly made him a fan, but the song he considers his personal favourite is ‘Remember’. He added that he would love to have Asake perform the track on his wedding day.

Wizkid praised Asake’s artistry, describing him as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and beyond, noting that his voice and creativity continue to elevate African music globally.

He said:

“‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’. I think you have to play that one on my wedding day — it is an amazing record.

You [Asake] are amazing. You have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I’m saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”

Wizkid is currently in a romantic relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Jada P, with whom he shares three children — two boys and a girl.
