Nigerian Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has revealed that the confidence and proud words of his five-year-old daughter, Adejare, played a major role in motivating his performance at his recently concluded London concert.

The singer disclosed this after the show, recalling the emotional moment when his daughter opened the concert by introducing him to the audience. According to Adekunle Gold, hearing his daughter confidently call him onto the stage left him with no choice but to give his all during the performance.

He explained that the experience made every sacrifice leading up to the concert feel worthwhile, as he felt deeply loved and supported by his daughter.

“Hearing my little girl’s voice from backstage, confident, proud, bragging about her daddy and calling me onto that stage, I knew I had no choice but to give everything I had,” Adekunle Gold wrote. “I couldn’t let her down. I couldn’t let you down.”

The singer added that months of hard work, sleepless nights, and uncertainty culminated in a moment of fulfillment during the concert.

“All the nights leading to this show without sleep, dreaming, working, believing, hoping, worrying. But on this night, more than anything else, I felt loved. Truly loved. And it made every sacrifice worth it,” he said.

Adekunle Gold noted that the London concert has inspired him to take the experience on the road, revealing plans for upcoming performances, with Lagos set to be the first stop.

“I can’t wait to take this experience on the road, starting with my amazing BFF in Lagos. You don’t have to wait long,” he added.
