Raphinha nets two as Barcelona beat Osasuna
Barcelona extended their lead at the top of La Liga after Brazilian winger Raphinha scored twice to secure a 2-0 victory over Osasuna on Saturday.
Raphinha opened the scoring in the 70th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box, breaking down a stubborn Osasuna defence and handing Barcelona their seventh straight league win.
The result moved Barcelona seven points clear at the top of the table, with second-placed Real Madrid set to face Alaves on Sunday.
Although Barcelona were not at their best, they showed patience and control to grind out the win and keep their first clean sheet in six matches across all competitions. It was also their fifth home victory in five games at the partially reopened Camp Nou.
“It was not easy,” Barcelona defender Gerard Martin told Movistar. “They were well organised, but we stayed patient, kept the ball, and eventually the goals came. The clean sheet is also very important for the team.”
Barcelona had chances in the first half, with Ferran Torres firing over the bar from a Lamine Yamal cross, while Yamal himself saw efforts saved by Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.
Osasuna threatened on the counter, but Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia dealt comfortably with their few attempts.
Torres had a goal ruled out for offside before the break, while both sides struggled to create clear chances in a tight first half.
Barcelona continued to push after the restart, and their pressure paid off when Pedri found Raphinha, who struck low into the bottom corner.
Raphinha completed his brace four minutes from time, tapping in at the back post after a deflected cross from Jules Kounde.
The Brazilian, who has recently returned from injury, was one of Barcelona’s standout performers as they secured another important league win.
