Twenty players have arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Egypt as preparations begin for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu was the latest to join the camp on Monday. The 31-year-old is expected to take part in the team’s first official training session at the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium.
The camp opened on Sunday, with early arrivals including goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Stanley Nwabali, as well as midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro.
Nigeria will play Egypt in a pre-AFCON friendly match on Tuesday. After the game, head coach Eric Chelle and his team will travel to Morocco to continue their preparations for the tournament.
More players are expected to join the team in the coming days as the Super Eagles step up preparations for AFCON 2025.
