Ayanda Ngwane strengthens Africa’s global media voice with strategic platforms, international partnerships

Pan-African media executive and journalist Ayanda Ngwane, widely recognized as Yaya of Africa, is consolidating her position as one of the continent’s most influential voices in media, geopolitics, and development communication, as her work continues to attract global attention and strategic collaborations.

Operating across Southern, West, and Central Africa, Ayanda’s career trajectory reflects a growing demand for African-led storytelling that speaks directly to global policy, economic transformation, and socio-political discourse. Through journalism, television, and media strategy, she has consistently advanced narratives that reposition Africa as an active contributor to global affairs rather than a passive subject of them.

At the center of this influence is Ayanda Media Network, the Pan-African media and communications company she founded and leads as Chief Executive Officer. The network has become a hub for media production, strategic communications, and development-focused storytelling, spotlighting African innovation, leadership, and enterprise across borders.

Ayanda also fronts Sharing with Ayanda TV, where she serves as host and executive producer. The platform has gained prominence for its long-form interviews and issue-driven conversations with policymakers, business leaders, creatives, and cultural figures from Africa and the diaspora. The show is increasingly regarded as a meeting point for dialogue on diplomacy, leadership, culture, and economic opportunity.

In addition to her broadcast work, Ayanda plays a key editorial role in shaping public discourse. She currently serves as Managing Editor of Neptune Prime, Editor-in-Chief of the Diplomatic Envoy Newsletter, and Co-Convener of the Geopolitics Series, contributing analysis on international relations and global power dynamics through an African-centered perspective. Her editorial leadership previously extended to LeVogue Magazine, published under Nigeria’s Leadership Newspaper.

Her international exposure includes professional engagements with Russia Today (RT) and BRICS-aligned media platforms, where she has offered commentary on global governance, economic cooperation, and South-South relations. Ayanda’s media career began at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), a foundation that helped shape her continental and global outlook.

Beyond editorial leadership, Ayanda has supported major international and continental events through media and public relations strategy. These include the World Economic Forum (Africa-focused platforms), the African Women in Leadership Conference, and the African Achievers Awards, contributing to the global visibility of African-led initiatives.

Her work has earned several industry recognitions, including honours from the African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO), the African Leading Women Awards, and the Africa CEO Awards, where her company was named Fastest Growing Independent Media Production House. She has also served as a media and consulting partner for leading African award platforms.

Ayanda is a graduate of CityVarsity, South Africa, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Multimedia. She continues to deepen her expertise through cross-border collaborations and ongoing work in media, diplomacy, and development communication.

In a notable development, Ayanda Media has entered into a strategic collaboration with Forbes, aimed at elevating African excellence on a globally respected business and leadership platform. The partnership is designed to spotlight African entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders whose achievements reflect integrity, impact, and sustainable success.

According to the partnership framework, the collaboration seeks to expand global access to African stories, connect African leaders with international opportunities, and reinforce Africa’s role in global business and leadership conversations—objectives that closely align with Ayanda Media’s long-standing mission.

Through her digital presence as Yaya of Africa, Ayanda continues to engage international audiences, advocate for women’s leadership, encourage Pan-African cooperation, and position African voices at the center of global dialogue on trade, investment, and shared prosperity.

In a statement by Ayanda she stated that “I’m truly humbled to step into the role as the new host and producer for Brand South Africa’s Global Podcast. This platform puts me right at the heart of international dialogue—covering the African Union, United Nations, ambassador summits, BRICS Nation gatherings, the St Petersburg Economic Forum, and key trade events across the Middle East and Asia.

Being entrusted with this responsibility means I get to amplify South Africa’s story, foster cross‑border collaboration, and spotlight the game‑changing ideas shaping our world. It’s a massive honor, and I’m ready to bring that energy, insight, and authentic storytelling to every episode.

Big thanks to the Brand SA team for the trust, and to the listeners who keep this conversation alive. Let’s keep building bridges and making waves together!”
