Coldplay concert cheating scandal: Kristin Cabot files for divorce

A woman caught on a kiss cam with her married boss at a Coldplay concert in the United States has finally broken her silence, describing the incident as a one-time, alcohol-fuelled mistake.

Kristin Cabot, a former human resources executive, was seen in a close embrace with her boss, Andy Byron, then CEO of Astronomer, during the band’s concert in Boston on July 16.

The moment was displayed on the giant screen at the venue, forcing the pair to quickly pull apart and try to hide, an action that went viral after Coldplay lead singer, Chris Martin, jokingly drew attention to them.

Speaking months later in an interview with the New York Times, Cabot said there was no ongoing sexual relationship between her and Byron.

“I made a bad decision after a few drinks and acted inappropriately with my boss,” she said, adding that she has taken responsibility for her actions and lost her job as a result.

Cabot said the incident was the first and only time they shared a kiss, describing it as a “cliché mistake” after a few tequila cocktails.

She revealed that she has faced intense online backlash, public ridicule and death threats since the video went viral.

Cabot admitted she had a crush on Byron but insisted the encounter did not go beyond that night. She said she was embarrassed by the incident, especially as she was the company’s head of human resources while Byron was the CEO.

Following the scandal, Byron stepped down from his position as CEO.

Cabot said she hopes her children learn that mistakes can happen but should not lead to harassment or threats to life.
