FG reopens 47 unity schools

The Federal Government has reopened all 47 Unity Colleges across the country, reaffirming its commitment to the safety of students and the continuity of academic activities.

The Federal Ministry of Education disclosed this in a statement on Thursday by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade.

According to the ministry, academic activities have fully resumed in the schools following the strengthening of security within and around the campuses.

It said students have returned safely, with many concluding their December academic programmes, while others have already completed their examinations.

The ministry assured parents and guardians that the safety, welfare and well-being of students remain a top priority, adding that the government is working closely with security agencies to maintain stability in school environments nationwide.

“The Federal Government remains resolute in its responsibility to protect every Nigerian child and guarantee their right to education in a safe and secure environment,” the statement said.

The ministry stressed that education remains a key pillar of national development, noting that efforts are being intensified to prevent disruptions to the academic calendar.

It also thanked parents, school administrators and students for their patience and cooperation, while pledging to sustain a secure and uninterrupted education system across the country.
