Breaking: Jake Paul rushed to hospital with broken jaw after Anthony Joshua fight

Jake Paul has been rushed to hospital with a suspected broken jaw after his six-round defeat to former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Miami.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer showed courage throughout the fight but ultimately succumbed to Joshua’s power. Paul, 28, confirmed after the fight that he feared his jaw had been fractured. His promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, later confirmed he had sought medical treatment, with a recovery period expected to last four to six weeks.

Despite the injury, Paul remained upbeat.

“I’m feeling good, that was fun, I love this sport,” he said, posting graphic images and videos on social media showing the impact of the fight and the injury sustained.

The former cruiserweight indicated he plans to take a short break before returning to challenge for the cruiserweight world title.

“We will heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight,” Paul said. “Anthony Joshua is a great fighter, I got beat but that’s what this sport is about. I will come back and keep on winning.”

Paul also reflected on his performance in the fight.

“I just got tired. It was a lot handling his weight. If I had better cardio I think I could have kept on fighting. I did my personal best,” he said.

The loss comes after a brave six-round effort against Joshua, who demonstrated why he remains one of the top heavyweight fighters in the world.
