Liverpool capitalised on Tottenham Hotspur’s indiscipline to claim a hard-fought 2–1 Premier League victory, surviving a late scare after dominating large spells of a bruising, drama-filled encounter.

The match swung decisively in Liverpool’s favour in the 33rd minute, when Xavi Simons was sent off following a VAR review for a reckless challenge, leaving Tottenham to battle with ten men for over an hour.

Despite Tottenham’s early energy, Liverpool gradually imposed control and broke the deadlock in the 56th minute.

A slick attacking move carved open the defence, allowing Alexander Isak to finish clinically past Guglielmo Vicario.

Liverpool doubled their lead ten minutes later as sustained pressure paid off. Jeremie Frimpong delivered a dangerous cross from the right, and Hugo Ekitike powered a header off the post and into the net to make it 2–0.

Tottenham, however, showed resilience despite their numerical disadvantage. They were rewarded in the 83rd minute when Richarlison reacted fastest to a loose ball in the box, firing home to reduce the deficit after a brief VAR check confirmed the goal.

Liverpool managed the lengthy stoppage time with composure, shutting down Spurs’ final attacks to secure all three points.
