President Bola Ahmed Tinubu touched down in Lagos today, marking the start of his end-of-year holidays in his home state after a whirlwind of official duties across northern Nigeria.

The President arrived at the presidential wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where he was warmly received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, government officials, and prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His visit to Lagos caps a three-state tour that began earlier today, blending governance, diplomacy, and personal reflection amid the festive season.

In Borno State, President Tinubu commissioned several infrastructure projects executed through collaboration between the state government under Governor Babagana Zulum and federal initiatives.

He also attended a high-profile wedding ceremony, underscoring his commitment to fostering social ties in the region still recovering from years of insurgency.

From Maiduguri, the President proceeded to Bauchi State for a solemn condolence visit to the family and followers of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the revered Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27 at the age of 101.

The visit highlighted Tinubu’s emphasis on interfaith harmony and respect for Nigeria’s diverse religious leadership.

With these engagements concluded, President Tinubu’s arrival in Lagos signals a shift to the Yuletide celebrations.

A longtime resident and former governor of the state, Tinubu’s return is seen by many as a homecoming, offering a moment of respite amid the demands of national leadership.

During his stay, the President is slated to participate in several cultural and festive events, including serving as the guest of honour at the iconic Eyo Festival on December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square.

The masquerade festival, a cornerstone of Lagosian heritage, will pay tribute to notable historical figures, including the President’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, a legendary market leader and former governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.
